How these are counted: Specifications are per-ship. Capacity is stated as beds (portal's own word) — NOT stated as double occupancy
The ship
Hurtigruten's first Signature ship, working The Svalbard Line, The North Cape Line and the new Limited Collection routes. Named after a narrow fjord in the Vesterålen archipelago.
A 2002 hull refitted in 2023 — and that is the single most useful fact for a customer comparing Hurtigruten with Havila, its direct competitor on the same Norwegian coastal route, whose four ships were all built 2021–2023. The choice is between a new ship and a refurbished classic, and both portals state enough for that to be an honest comparison.
"Beds: 500" is the portal's own word. It is not stated as double occupancy and it is not the same claim as passengers. Recorded exactly as published, with the basis labelled — a supplier ask, not a number to be quietly converted. (The fleet page separately claims "fewer than 500 guests on board", which is consistent with 500 beds but is a different measure again.)
