Boutique Beach sits on the inhabited local island of Dhigurah, in South Ari Atoll, and there are two ways in — both standard.

Domestic flight + boat — around 40 to 45 minutes. The short domestic hop from Malé, then the boat leg across to Dhigurah.

Seaplane — around 30 to 35 minutes. Available as the alternative, daylight hours only.

From Australia, Boutique Beach Club Dhigurah connects via one of the major Malé gateways — Singapore Airlines via Singapore (SIN), Malaysia Airlines via Kuala Lumpur (KUL), SriLankan Airlines via Colombo (CMB), or Emirates via Dubai (DXB).

Once in Malé, the resort is reached by a domestic flight to Maamigili Airport (the official site states “only 20 minutes away by plane from Male”), followed by a speedboat transfer to Dhigurah island. Unlike our seaplane-transfer properties, this route isn’t constrained by the same daylight-only flying window in the same way, but transfers are genuinely not bundled into the package — the resort’s own all-inclusive terms explicitly exclude airport transfers, so budget for this separately.

Consultant tip: Dhigurah’s village is a genuine, lived-in local community, not a resort backdrop — the resort’s own guidance is to dress respectfully on public roads (shorts and t-shirts, no swimwear or bare chests for men), with swimwear fine once your boat leaves the harbour. How do we get to Boutique Beach Club Dhigurah from Australia?

Fly into Malé via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo or Dubai, then a domestic flight to Maamigili Airport (~20 minutes per the resort's own site), followed by a short speedboat transfer to Dhigurah island. Unlike our seaplane-transfer properties, this route isn't bound by a daylight-only flying window in the same way, but connections still need planning.

Is alcohol available at Boutique Beach Club Dhigurah?

No. Dhigurah is a local Maldivian island, and local-island regulations prohibit the service of alcohol anywhere on the property — this is genuinely different from a private resort island. Paid day-excursions to alcohol-licensed venues elsewhere are the only on-trip route around this, at extra cost. If drinking on your Maldives holiday matters to you, we'd steer you to one of our private-island resort properties instead.

Is this a private-island resort like your other Maldives properties?

No — and this is worth understanding before you book. Dhigurah is a full, inhabited local island with its own village, school and health centre, not a private resort islet. No. The on-site PADI 5-star dive centre runs a full range of PADI recreational training courses, including entry-level certifications, alongside guided dives for certified divers in small groups of 4-5. What are our real chances of seeing a whale shark or manta ray?

Genuinely good, by Maldives standards. Dhigurah sits in the South Ari Atoll's resident whale-shark area — one of the only places in the world with year-round sightings — and the resort's own site states whale sharks and mantas are seen year-round within the South Ari Marine Protected Area, whether diving or snorkelling. It doesn't publish a specific best-month season, and we won't invent one — but this is precisely why we refer whale-shark-seeking guests here from our other Maldives properties.

Is this resort suitable for families with young children?

It can work for a family who are all keen on diving or snorkelling, but it isn't built as a family resort — there's no dedicated kids' club, no pool, and no children's programming. The Standard Room's family-lounge sofa-bed configuration and the larger Suite Mezzanine Room can sleep a family of four, but the day-to-day rhythm here is genuinely dive/snorkel-boat-trip-centred, not family-activity-centred.

What does the All-Inclusive package actually cover?

Breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus unlimited soft drinks, water, local fresh juices, tea and coffee, and a welcome drink on arrival. It does NOT include alcohol (see above), airport transfers, dive/snorkel equipment rental beyond what's bundled in a diving package, Nitrox filling, or PADI course fees.
