Why I recommend it

Why we recommend it

Adaaran Select Meedhupparu is a genuinely large island by Maldives standards — 221 villas across ten categories, four restaurants and five bars — which suits travellers who want variety night to night rather than a boutique three-restaurant footprint. Every stay is quoted Premium All-Inclusive, so the day-to-day cost of the trip is settled before you land. It works equally well as a first Maldives honeymoon (two dedicated honeymoon-tier villas, both with a private plunge pool) and as a family trip, with a genuine kids’ club and family-sized villas that don’t force you into an overwater category.

The honest fit

Adaaran Select Meedhupparu is best taken for what it genuinely is: one of the larger islands in our Maldives portfolio — 221 villas across ten categories, four restaurants and five bars — where every single stay is quoted Premium All-Inclusive, so the day-to-day cost of the trip is settled before you land. That scale is the appeal: variety night to night, a genuine Komas Kids’ Club (ages 4–12) and family-sized beach villas that don’t force you overwater, plus two dedicated honeymoon-tier villas — both with a private plunge pool — for couples doing their first Maldives trip on a settled budget. Travellers whose heart is set on a small boutique-feel hideaway, an overwater villa with its own private pool, or a lighter bed-and-breakfast style meal plan are better matched elsewhere in our range — we’ll point you straight to the resorts built around exactly those things.

Experiences & wellness

The house reef

Snorkel from the beach on the southern section near the dive school — the resort’s own house-reef guide calls it well suited to snorkelling and entry-level dives — while the northern section near the water villas hosts dedicated dive trips, including night dives.

Diving with Dive Point

The on-site Dive Point centre runs courses and boat dives across Raa Atoll, where manta rays are reported near year-round with a summer hotspot at certain dive sites.

Mandara Spa

Four double and two single treatment rooms with a relaxation area and an outdoor couples’ bale, run by the international Mandara Spa group.

Komas Kids’ Club

A dedicated kids’ club for ages 4–12, backing the island’s family-sized beach villa categories.

Return transfers are included in every Mykish package. We confirm the transfer basis on your quote.

From Australia, Adaaran Select Meedhupparu connects via the same major Malé gateways as the rest of the portfolio.

Once in Malé, the resort is reached by a combined domestic flight (~20 minutes) plus speedboat (~45 minutes) to Raa Atoll — the transfer combination the current Mykish contract treats as standard. A direct seaplane transfer (~45 minutes) is also available as a paid upgrade on this contract.

All pricing on this page and in any quote is in AUD; any currency switcher elsewhere on the site is indicative only.

Consultant tip

Consultant tip: because this resort’s transfer defaults to domestic flight + speedboat rather than a direct seaplane, luggage handling can involve one extra transfer point — worth packing a day/overnight bag with essentials accessible, the same general advice as any Maldives resort reached by a multi-leg transfer.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do we get to Adaaran Select Meedhupparu from Australia?

Fly into Malé via one of the major Asian or Middle-East gateways, then either a combined domestic flight (~20 min) + speedboat (~45 min), or a direct seaplane (~45 min) as a paid upgrade, to Raa Atoll.

Is Adaaran Select Meedhupparu good for a family with young kids?

Yes — Komas Kids Club accepts children aged 4 to 12, and the resort runs a seasonal kids-stay-and-eat-free offer for the eldest child (Apr–Oct window, exact terms confirmed at time of booking). Families book the Two Bedroom Family Beach Villa, Two Bedroom Deluxe Family Beach Villa, or the single-bedroom Family Beach Villa (bunk bed) — the standard Beach Villa/Deluxe Beach Villa/Sunset Deluxe Beach Villa/Jacuzzi Beach Villa categories also accept one child alongside two adults.

Can we stay in a water villa with children?

No. Children under 11.99 years are not accommodated in the Prestige Water Villas — a resort policy, not a Mykish restriction. Families with younger children book one of the beach-based categories instead.

Is Adaaran Select Meedhupparu adults-only?

No. It runs a kids' club, a seasonal kids-stay-free offer, and dedicated family villa categories, alongside its honeymoon suites and couples-only water villas.

What does the Premium All-Inclusive plan cover?

Every room category is quoted on a Premium All-Inclusive basis — a 24-hour package including dine-around dining, premium beverages, in-room mini-bar, and select spa credits/excursion elements.

Can we snorkel straight off the beach, or do we need to book a boat?

Yes, in parts — the resort's own house-reef page describes beach/near-shore access, particularly on the southern section near the dive centre. The northern section, near the water villas, is used more for dedicated dive trips including night dives.

What's the difference between the villa categories?

Ten named categories, several sharing the same 51m² beach-based footprint: Beach Villa, Deluxe Beach Villa, Jacuzzi Beach Villa and Sunset Deluxe Beach Villa differ mainly in finish/orientation/an in-room jacuzzi, not structure. The Family Beach Villa (51m², bunk bed) is the single-room family option; the Two Bedroom (Deluxe) Family Beach Villa (102m², sleeps up to 6) is the larger family option. Honeymoon Suite (102m²) and Meedhupparu Residence with Pool (158m², duplex) are both beach-based, couples-only, with a private plunge pool. Prestige Water Villa (84m², 20 units) is the resort's overwater category, couples-and-teens only — no children under 12.

Do Australians need a visa for the Maldives?

No advance visa is required. The Maldives grants a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival to all nationalities, including Australians, provided you hold a passport valid for 6+ months beyond your stay, proof of onward or return travel, confirmed accommodation, and sufficient funds for your visit. (Source: Maldives Immigration.)

Why book Adaaran Select Meedhupparu through Mykish instead of directly?

We hold a direct contract, so we can offer rates and inclusions the public can't access online, with on-ground support if anything needs sorting during the stay, and seasonal upgrades or added-value inclusions when available (never guaranteed, always confirmed at time of booking).
