Why I recommend it

Why we recommend it

Siyam World is the biggest, most amenity-dense resort in the Sun Siyam collection — genuinely built for families and multi-generational groups who want a single-resort “everything” holiday rather than island-hopping for variety. The Maldives’ largest floating waterpark, an in-resort horse ranch, a full sports arena, and Kidz World’s marine-biologist programming sit alongside 17 restaurants and bars on one 24-hour Premium All-Inclusive plan. For AU families weighing how much they can fit into one trip, it removes a lot of the “which resort does everything” research.

The honest fit

Siyam World is best taken on its own terms: Sun Siyam’s biggest, liveliest island — 437 villas, the Maldives’ largest floating water park, a full sports arena with an international-size football field, an in-resort horse ranch and a Kidz World for ages 3–11 — all run on a single 24-hour Premium All-Inclusive plan (“WOW Inclusive”) that folds in dine-around dinners across six specialty restaurants, seven bars, non-motorised watersports and a choice of included ocean cruises. It’s built for families and groups who want everything on tap, and it sits in the Luxury band of our portfolio because of everything it packs in. Couples who want a small, hushed, adults-only island — or divers chasing the Maldives’ classic manta and whale-shark territory in Baa and South Ari — are better served by other resorts in our range, and we’ll happily point you to exactly those; only the Mint pool bar here is adults-only, not the island itself, and that honesty is the point.

Getting there

  • AtollNoonu

Return transfers are included in every Mykish package. We confirm the transfer basis on your quote.

Siyam World sits in Noonu Atoll, Republic of Maldives, reached via the atoll’s own domestic airport, Maafaru (NMF). Transfer options and timing are covered in the Australian traveller guide above.

From Australia, Siyam World connects via one of the major Malé gateways — Singapore Airlines via Singapore (SIN), Malaysia Airlines via Kuala Lumpur (KUL), SriLankan Airlines via Colombo (CMB), or Emirates via Dubai (DXB).

Once in Malé, Siyam World is reached via Noonu Atoll’s own domestic airport, Maafaru (NMF): a domestic flight from Malé followed by a short speedboat transfer, or alternatively a direct seaplane. Night-time arrivals and departures are automatically routed via the domestic flight + speedboat option, since seaplanes only operate in daylight. Unlike some of our other Maldives partners, this transfer is not bundled into the package — it’s a genuine, separately-quoted cost either way, and we’ll always quote it transparently upfront rather than as a surprise at confirmation.

All pricing in any quote from Mykish is in AUD; any currency switcher elsewhere on the site is indicative only.

Consultant tip

Consultant tip: the baggage allowance on both the seaplane and domestic transfer is 20kg checked + 5kg hand luggage per passenger, with excess charged per kilo by the operator (not a Mykish fee) — worth planning for if you’re travelling with young kids and pram/cot gear. Specialty restaurants under the WOW! Inclusive plan need pre-booking, so it’s worth locking in your Kurry Leaf or Takrai night before you land.

Talk to Rahul about Siyam World

As a direct-contract Sun Siyam partner, Mykish accesses wholesale rates the public can’t book online, quotes both transfer options (seaplane and domestic flight + speedboat) transparently, and provides on-ground support if anything needs sorting during the stay. Sun Siyam’s brand-wide seasonal upgrades apply when available — never guaranteed, always confirmed at the time of booking.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do we get to Siyam World from Australia?

Fly into Malé (Velana International) via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo or Dubai, then either a domestic flight to Maafaru Airport (NMF) in Noonu Atoll followed by a short speedboat transfer, or a direct seaplane — both are genuine options on Siyam World's transfer contract. Night arrivals and departures are automatically routed via the domestic flight + speedboat option, since seaplanes only operate in daylight.

Is Siyam World good for a family holiday?

Yes — it's one of the most family-scaled resorts in our portfolio. Kidz World runs a full weekly programme (including a Junior Marine Biologist activity) for ages 3-11.99, and the island has a floating waterpark, a full-size football pitch and sports arena, and family/multi-bedroom residence categories sleeping up to 12.

Can we stay in an overwater villa with young children?

It's possible but not the resort's own recommendation. Siyam World's contract notes overwater villas 'are not recommended for young children' due to the layout, though bookings are accepted with parents' full consent and responsibility — a softer stance than some of our other Maldives partners, which flatly exclude children from every overwater category. Families who want a guaranteed fit should look at the beach-based Sunset Pool Beach Villa, Beach Suite with Pool, or one of the multi-bedroom family residences instead.

Is Siyam World adults-only?

No — it's a large family and couples resort. Mint, the infinity pool bar, is an adults-only zone within the property, but the resort overall runs a full kids' club and family accommodation alongside its honeymoon and couples inventory.

What does the WOW! Inclusive plan actually cover?

Buffet breakfast (Tempo or Baraabaru), lunch, and a choice each evening of one buffet or six specialty restaurants (Takrai, Andalucia, Kurry Leaf, The Wahoo Grill, Delmare, Kaage) — plus unlimited drinks (including champagne, premium spirits and 100+ wine labels) across 6-7 bars, a once-daily-replenished in-villa mini bar, and access to the floating waterpark, sports facilities and most watersports equipment. Arigato (Japanese) is at a 50% discount rather than fully included, and Barrique/The Cube fine-dining venues sit outside the standard plan.

What's the difference between the villa categories?

15 structural categories across three settings. Overwater (7 categories, all with a private plunge pool + slide): Water Villa (81m², the largest category at 139 villas), Lagoon Villa (97m²), Ocean Villa (95m²), the top-tier single-key Water Pavilion (179m², only 2 on the island), and three multi-bedroom overwater family products up to the one-of-a-kind Grand Water Pavilion (348m²). Beach-based (8 categories, all with a private pool): Sunset Pool Beach Villa (91m²) and Beach Suite with Pool (102m²) are the couple/small-family entry tiers, running up through Two/Three/Four-Bedroom Pool Beach Villas and Residences to the 712m² Four Bedroom Beach Residence, which sleeps up to 12.

Can we snorkel or dive at Siyam World?

Yes — the resort has direct house-reef access for snorkelling and an on-site SSI-certified dive centre for certified diving at all levels, plus guided reef safaris and excursions around Noonu Atoll.

Do Australians need a visa for the Maldives?

No advance visa is required. The Maldives grants a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival to all nationalities, including Australians, provided you hold a passport valid for 6+ months beyond your stay, proof of onward or return travel, confirmed accommodation, and sufficient funds for your visit. (Source: Maldives Immigration.)

Why book Siyam World through Mykish instead of directly?

We hold a direct contract with Sun Siyam, so we can access rates the public can't book online, quote both transfer options transparently, and provide on-ground support if anything needs sorting during the stay, plus seasonal upgrades when available (never guaranteed, always confirmed at time of booking).
