Fly into Malé via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo or Dubai, then a ~45-minute daytime seaplane direct to the island. Late-night arrivals or departures instead use a ~35-minute domestic flight to Maafaru International plus a ~20-minute speedboat transfer, since seaplanes only fly in daylight.

Yes — it's a genuine family resort, with multiple "Best Family Resort, Maldives" awards. Koamas Kidz Club takes children aged 3 to 11.99 years, and the beach-based villa categories and the multi-bedroom Retreats all suit families. It is not an adults-only resort.

The resort doesn't recommend it given the layout, but — unlike some of our other Maldives partners — it isn't an absolute rule here: water villa bookings with children are accepted with the parent's full consent and responsibility. Most families choose a beach-based villa or one of the Retreats instead.

No. It runs a full kids' club and multiple family-capable villa and Retreat categories. Reflections, one of the resort's pool bars, is reserved for guests aged 16 and above, but that's one facility, not the whole resort.

Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner (or a three-course à la carte meal at Trio, Flavours, Taste of India or Bamboo, with a 50% food-only discount at Islander's Grill), all-inclusive beverages at Waters Edge and every restaurant/bar during operating hours, a daily snack, three scheduled excursions per stay (Local Island Visit, Sunset Golden Cruise, and a guided house-reef snorkel), a spa credit, complimentary kayaking or stand-up paddling, and more. It does not cover Teppanyaki, the Wine Cellar, Bubble Lounge, Spa Café, cooking classes, in-villa dining (beyond a 50% food discount), or special/destination dining.

The resort's in-lagoon Nemo Garden is accessible without a boat, and All-Inclusive guests get one complimentary guided snorkel there per stay. Boat-based Snorkelling Safaris to outer reef sites also run several times a week for guests who want to go further afield — those are a paid add-on, not included.

On the beach: Deluxe Beach Villa (125m²) and Deluxe Beach Villa with Pool (125m², private pool) are the entry categories; Family Deluxe Beach Villa with Pool and Pool Beach Villa (both 140m²) are near-identical beach categories with a separate living/dining area. Over water: Water Villa (85m²) and the Horizon Water Villa/Sunset Horizon Water Villa (90m², same product, your choice of aspect) don't have a pool; Horizon Water Villa with Pool (110m²) and Infinity Water Villa (155m²) do. For larger groups or multi-generation travel, three one-off Retreats step up again: Hidden Retreat (2 bedrooms, 205m², garden-based) and Celebrity Retreat (3 bedrooms, 600m², garden-based, the resort's flagship) are land-based; Aqua Retreat (2 bedrooms, 350m²) is genuinely overwater. All three Retreats include a personal butler.

No — it isn't a whale-shark property. The house reef here is genuinely good, with resident manta rays seen day and night, but if seeing a whale shark is the priority for your trip, we'd point you to Sun Siyam Vilu Reef or Sun Siyam Iru Fushi's sister property Sun Siyam Iru Veli, both direct-contract Mykish partners with dedicated whale-shark excursions.

No advance visa is required. The Maldives grants a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival to all nationalities, including Australians, provided you hold a passport valid for 6+ months beyond your stay, proof of onward or return travel, confirmed accommodation, and sufficient funds for your visit.
